GYNECOMASTIA A SOCIAL TABOO.

Gynecomastia or large male breast has become a social taboo worldwide. Plastic Surgeon are now performing lot of Chest liposuction to reduce this social fear. It has become so common that patients are showing them selves to Plastic and Cosmetic surgeon to get their Chest flat and some even ask to give there chest a shape what they desire, well in cosmetic surgery anything is possible which is impossible!

The most common cause of large male breast is Gynecomastia which is actually the deposition of fat and the stromal tissue in the male breast. Causes can be physiological, pathological and even drug induce, Alcohol plays a role as well.  In past decades remedy of Gynecomastia is suppose to be a big surgical procedure in which surgeon gives big incisions below the nipple areola and take out the stromal tissue along with the fat, sometimes drains are also placed to prevent any collection of blood and serum, the incision is so big that the scar is not aesthetically pleasing some times.

In my practice I am catering lot of Gynecomastia in my part of the world also as the patients are very eager to reduce their breast size as they feel embarrass to take off their shirts while swimming and doing workouts. They don’t even feel comfortable in front of their life partners.

What I do for such clients I do my best Aesthetically I gave them tumescent liposuction for their remedy, I place tiny incision not more than 1 mm at the chest folds and tumescent that area, tumescent means swollen or firm and I do that with Saline water containing Xylocaine and with Adrenalin injections. What that solution dose is reduces the post operative pain and bruises and the bleeding. After I place small cannula measuring 1.5 mm till 2 mm and suck the fat and the soft stromal tissue and sculpt the chest.

Sometimes I need to place incisions at the nipple areola junction if the stromal tissue is hard and not coming from liposuction than at 9.00 clock and the 3.00 clock incision are made not more than 3 mm and I take the stromal tissue out leaving no scar behind at both breast. My Patients are discharge after 2 to 3 hrs of the procedure and resume their normal work next day taking some little Pain killers and antibiotic but they will resume their hard exercise after one month a compression garment is also advice for 6 weeks which is easy to wear with the clothing.
